I have a diploma in Counselling validated by the University of Gloucestershire. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I currently practise as a counsellor in Chippenham.
Prior to counselling, I worked in education for eighteen years where I developed my interest in human potential. I continue this interest in my therapeutic work with clients.
I believe that one of our deepest needs as human beings is to be listened to, understood and accepted. None of us is perfect and we all struggle at times with the challenges that life presents us with. Our potential as human beings is far greater than we realise and this is why I use a person centred approach to help my clients to explore their concerns and to discover more of their inner resources.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and I work with people from all walks of life, regardless of gender, sexuality, culture or religion.
As a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice and subject to its complaints procedure.
I attend regular supervision and update my professional knowledge and understanding through ongoing professional development.
